This document is a selection of slides from an internal NSA presentation describing the PRISM program. This program involved mining internet metadata directly from the servers from several U.S. Internet companies: Microsoft (since 2007), Yahoo! (since 2008), Google (since 2009), Facebook (since 2009), Paltalk (since 2009), YouTube (since 2010, Skype (since 2011), AOL (since 2011) and Apple (since 2012). This slide explains the relationship between PRISM and UPSTREAM collection (the collection of communications from fiber cables and infrastructure as the data flows past).
